Urban Sketching, has allowed me to become not just better with sketching skills, but also generating ideas through sketching, taking risks such as completely sketching with pens. It also grew the inner explorer in me, visiting places I’d normally wouldn’t go to.

CUSTOMIZABLE OBJECTS IN RHINO WITH GRASSHOPPER
Utilizing my skills in mathematics and thinking techniques. I am able to create grasshopper formulas that help me create customizable objects, customizable means that it has certain parameters that can be adjusted, eg. length, width, height.

These formulas have been a great time saver for my workflows, allowing me to create 3D models precisely, and efficiently.
CUSTOM CABINET COMMAND - DEMO
I realized this skill when I was at Internship @ EML Architects, I was tasked to do 3 different 3D models, which required a lot of time. On plan, I found that there were so many cabinets that needed to be modelled and all in different dimensions, so I came up with the idea of creating a command that helps me customize the cabinet parameter as shown on the view above.

Modelling cabinets in Rhino went from taking 10 minutes per cabinet to 1 minute per cabinet, that's a HUGE difference.
Besides cabinets, I created other kinds of Grasshopper commands for:
- Customizable grid ceiling
- Customizable grid trellis ceiling
- Customizable door frames
- Customizable staircases in U shaped, straight line, and curved shape (proudest one, and the next most powerful one yet)

A business opportunity?
I find that this Grasshopper command was such a great time saver thus, I saw it as a potential business opportunity.
(1) I placed 3 different customizable cabinet commands on sale and marketed on my Instagram @ggarch_ives.

(2) With this skill I have, I also decided to take in requests to create different design of customizable cabinets based on client's desired outcomes.
