Model making challenged me to think critically on how to bring my project to reality. This means needing to understand what materials, tools and machinery would work to create the model. 2025 - THE URBAN REFUGE
Main model materials; Plywood, greyboard, corrugated paper, metal wire, blue tack, BBT straw, fake moss.
Site model materials; MDF board, greyboard, toilet paper, wood glue, paint, varnish, baby's breath bouquet as trees.
2024 - THE SPINNING CLAWS
A GROUP PROJECT BY : GARY NG, NG SIKAI for Digital Construction & Fabrication Learning Unit
Main model materials; Plywood, 3D printing.
The mechanism behind "The Spinning Claws" is that one would be able to (1) rotate the bottom bearing which (2) rotates a bevel gear which (3) consecutively rotates the 4 other bevel gears that are (4) attached to the claws to create a spinning effect.

2024 - THE WHIMSICAL MANGROVE LIBRARY
Main model materials; Greyboard, plywood, cut paper, plastic book wrap, sponges as bushes.
